Emergency Lighting
The installation of emergency lighting is required on all commercial and multiple occupancy residential buildings. The lighting is incase of a situation where the main power supply is cut and normal lighting systems subsequently fail. Without emergency lighting you could leave your property vulnerable to sudden darkness with potential catastrophic consequences for occupants inside.
Emergency lighting is normally required to operate fully automatically and give illumination of a sufficiently high level to enable all occupants to evacuate the premises safely.
NDEL are able to offer guidance and advice on emergency lighting, we are also equipped to install these emergency lighting systems to the best standard.
The British Standard BS 5266-1 relates to the following types of buildings:
- Hotels & B&B’s
- Bars, Restaurants and Nightclubs
- Hospitals
- Nursing Homes
- Schools, Colleges & Universities
- Licensed Premises
- Offices
- Museums
